Carol is a huge part of our team and has been for over 15 years. She has helped our company grow into what it is now and has been Stephanie’s right-hand woman since she became Caring Adoptions’ Executive Director. Carol retired from Caring Adoptions as the Office Manager in 2020, but she could not stay away. Carol now works in the office a few times a month and helps out wherever needed.
Carol’s interest in adoption started about 40 years ago when her close friend adopted a daughter. She witnessed the growth of that relationship and how it blossomed through the years. Years later, she was introduced to Caring Adoptions through Patricia Bridges, which was Caring Adoptions’ former Executive Director. Patricia offered Carol a job she could not pass up. Carol started working as Caring Adoptions Financial Assistant and then became the Office Manager. She has a lot of wisdom in finances and can still help guide Caring Adoptions when needed.
“The most rewarding part of my job is being able to see families formed through adoption and seeing those lasting connections.” She goes on to say, “It is exciting when a child is placed with a family, and you see the love there.”
On the other hand, the job can sometimes come with challenges. Carol explains that currently the most challenging part of her job is trying not to take on her old responsibilities in the office. She is used to doing those tasks, and it can sometimes be out of habit, just like brushing your teeth.
When Carol is not running around doing tasks in the office, you can find her doing hobbies she enjoys like reading, crocheting, knitting, gardening, and painting ceramics, to name a few. Carol also enjoys camping with her husband and two daughters. Carol says one thing she could not live without would be her family! A fun fact about Carol is that she loves nutcrackers and has over 80 that she puts up throughout her home during the holidays.
