Stephanie H. Warren, MSW, Executive Director – Stephanie graduated with her BS from the University of Houston in 2001 and got her Master of Social Work from Tulane University in New Orleans in 2004. She started her social work career in foster care prior to coming to Caring Adoptions. She has been with the agency since 2007 as Birth Parent Coordinator and in 2015 became Executive Director. Along with her duties as Executive Director, she continues to work with the birthmothers to insure the legal requirements for the placement of their child are satisfied, along with making sure the girls are in a safe environment and can adequately take care of themselves. She enjoys spending time with her adopted son, Joshua, running marathons, and traveling.
Patricia R. Bridges, MA, LCPAA, Director Emeritus –
Pat has a BA from Baylor University in Waco, Texas in Education and Journalism, and a MA in Education and Religion from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Lousiville, KY. She is the mother of three adult adoptees whom she and her husband adopted as newborns. She is the grandmother (YaYa) of one precious granddaughter in North Richland Hills, TX. She is one of the active American Sign Language interpreters at Chapelwood United Methodist Church, and active in United Methodist Women, and adult and special education.
JoAnn (Jody) W. Vick, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Director of Adoption – Jody has been with the agency since 1992 during our early stages of growing, and remains our primary social worker. She also has a private counseling practice in the Woodlands. Jody is the smiling face who meets with the families in their home for Home Study and Post Placement Visits. Jody has two grandchildren and enjoys her role as Grandmother. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and being with her friends.
Carol Rover, Office Manager/Financial Assistant – Carol has been with the agency since 2005 in the financial office and became Office Manager in 2015. She is responsible for coordinating the financial wellbeing of the birthmother’s in care, along with day to day financial responsibilities. Carol and her husband Steve, have two adult daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, camping, crocheting and embroidering and is a big fan of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.
Valerie Ortega, BS, CDFL, Family Coordinator – Valerie is a proud graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University. She interned with Caring Adoptions before she graduated and joined our team in 2013. She works with families in the process of being approved for the adoption of a child, coordinating the paperwork for the family’s Home Study, assisting Stephanie Warren with the matching process, and assisting with the placement of a child. Along with Jamie Rover, she hosts a post-placement group session each month at the agency for adoptive families. She will complete her masters degree at Prairie View A&M by May 2018.
Jamie Rover, BBA, Post Placement Assistant –
Jamie has been with the agency since 2006 and is a proud graduate of The University of Texas. Jamie works with families during the Post-Placement period, after placement of their child and prior to finalization of their adoption. She enjoys reading and traveling along with crafting. She also graces the office with her wonderful baked goods. Jamie, along with Valerie Ortega, hosts a post-placement group session each month at the agency.
Tory Taylor, Administrative Assistant – Since 2005, Tory has been the lovely voice heard when you first call the agency. She is responsible for getting pictures and correspondence from adoptive families sent to their birthmothers, coordinating our meeting locations for parent education and in office appointments along with handling the incoming correspondence from families. She has adult twin daughters and one grandchild. She enjoys reading, needlepoint, volunteering at Brookwood, and spending time with her daughters and granddaughter.
